Will Purser moved to Sequim Bay Estates last year to retire from a career in engineering.
But instead of getting rest and relaxation, Purser is now looking at 60-hour work weeks — he was selected Monday as the newest Clallam County Public Utility District commissioner.
Purser was chosen from a field of 20 candidates for the commission seat.
Purser will replace Bill McCrorie, who died in February after serving on the three-member board for 25 years. McCrorie was 74.
About half of the 20 candidates who expressed interest in the job were interviewed. The pool was then winnowed to four finalists over the last week, Commissioner Ted Simpson said.
