Clallam County commissioners are considering three proposals to standardize salary increases for nonunion employees.
County Administrator Dan Engelbertson proposed the salary schedule, saying it would allow the county to review those salaries every three years when the county’s union contracts are renewed.
“It’s in the public’s best interests for long-term public policy,” Engelbertson said.
The county’s step salary schedule also would be extended under the proposals so nonunion and exempt employees reach the top salary step in eight years instead of three.
