PORT ANGELES – Monthly water rates will increase by 6.5 percent to 9.5 percent in each of the next three years under a plan approved by the Clallam County Public Utility District’s board of commissioners this week.
The increases will cost residential customers an additional $1.08 to $3.32 per month, depending upon the individual water system, said Clallam PUD Treasurer Josh Bunch on Monday.
Some of the monthly rate increases will be higher than 6.5 percent, but none higher than 9.5 percent, he said.
The three years of increases will create one single rate for all the district’s nine water systems gradually, instead of all at once, Bunch said.
