PORT ANGELES — Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners have approved a $6,576 raise for General Manager Doug Nass.
Nass previously earned $179,004 per year. He now makes $185,580 annually.
The three district commissioners unanimously approved the 3.67 percent raise this week.
The raise is retroactive to Nov. 16.
Nass’ salary is based on comparisons with other public utilities in similar-sized counties, including Cowlitz, Benton, Lewis and Mason, PUD officials have said.
The compensation package includes $2,000 monthly in deferred compensation and a $500-per-month vehicle allowance.
Nass’ last raise came in 2013 after a two-year freeze.
With the raise, Nass remains the third-highest-paid public employee on the North Olympic Peninsula.
Mike Glenn, Jefferson Healthcare hospital chief executive officer, earns $236,775 per year, while Eric Lewis, Olympic Medical Center CEO, earns $203,278.
Jefferson County PUD General Manager Jim Parker earns $120,000 per year.
The Jefferson County utility has about 40 full-time-equivalent employees, or FTEs, and 18,500 metered electric customers.
Clallam County PUD has about 140 FTEs and 30,500 metered customers, Nass said.
District commissioners conduct an annual performance review of the general manager.
Chairman Hugh Haffner was not immediately available for comment Thursday.
