PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Physicians Community Benefit Fund will be awarding four grants this year totaling $9,865.
This year’s recipients are:
* First Step Family Support Center — The center, 325 E. Sixth St., will receive $1,500 toward the purchase of two types of breast pumps for 40 low-income women.
* Port Angeles Association of Religious Communities Clinic — The clinic, 510 E. Park Ave., will receive $3,000 to be used to help pay for supplies and equipment, telephone service, occasional laboratory tests and some basic medications provided to individuals and their families who are working but unable to afford insurance.
* Port Angeles Fire Department — The department, 105 E. Fifth St., will receive $1,615.55 to be used toward the purchase of a pulse oximeter and a carbon-dioxide detector.
* United Way of Clallam County-Peninsula Children’s Clinic — The clinic will receive $3,750 to purchase new books at discount rates for its Reach Out and Read Program.
