Tying the knot is not on the mind of many West End residents. And there’s a good reason — many of them are related to one another.
Marriage-related statistics released last week by officials from the 2000 Census show a higher percentage of West End residents are deciding not to marry than in most other communities in Clallam County.
In Neah Bay, 38.3 percent of adults have never been married. And in Forks, 30.3 percent have chosen to avoid wedding vows.
But the phenomena is not isolated on the West End.
Adult Blyn residents — at least 37.2 percent of them — have never been married either.
The three communities have the highest percentage of residents leaving the knot untied in either Clallam or Jefferson counties.
