Clallam: Lake Sutherland man missing

Clallam County sheriff’s investigators are concerned a missing man may have drowned in Lake Sutherland while trying to recapture his pet parrot.

Their concern follows reports of an unknown man last seen on the lake Monday afternoon and the reported disappearance of Darren J. Biddle, 39, of Rustic Lane, on Wednesday.

Biddle’s parrot was also reported missing.

Officials conducted a grid search of the lake and checked the shorelines twice Wednesday, but there was no sign of Biddle, Undersheriff Joe Martin said, stopping short of definitively linking the two cases.

However, authorities speculated the man seen Monday on the lake may have been Biddle trying to recapture his missing parrot.
