CLALLAM BAY — The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office will deploy K9 teams today to conduct a search in an area in Clallam Bay as a result of a missing persons case from 2012.
The search will take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., according to a Facebook post from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
There are 11 expected K9 teams, all trained in human remains detection, responding from Clallam, Kitsap, Pierce, Mason and Snohomish counties that will be participating in the search, which was requested by Detective Brandon Stoppani, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Clallam County Search and Rescue has been formally planning the details of this search for three weeks.
The Sheriff’s Office said there is no danger to the public or reason to be concerned, and it asked if people see the search occurring to stay away from the area so the K9 teams can focus on their search.
