Clallam County EDC to present awards

Gala tonight at 7 Cedars Casino

BLYN — The Clallam County Economic Development Corp. will present three awards during its annual gala dinner tonight.

The 2020 gala and awards presentation, which is “celebrating the Year of the Entrepreneur,” will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Seven Room at the 7 Cedars Casino at 270756 U.S Highway 101.

A few tickets were still available on Thursday. The tickets, which are $45, can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com.

The dinner will include introductions of newly elected board of directors members and awards announcements for Business of the Year, Olympic Leader of the Year and Nonprofit of the Year.

The keynote speaker will be David Giuliani, who was selected as the National Entrepreneur of the Year for Manufacturing and also U.S. Small Business Person of the Year.

He is the co-founder, CEO and chief inventor of the Sonicare toothbrush, which was sold to Phillips Healthcare, and the co-founder and CEO of Clarisonic skin-cleansing company, which was sold to L’Oreal in 2011.

Also providing remarks will be Lisa Brown, state commerce director.

The award winners were selected by the EDC board, which judged among three nominees in each category.

Winners were those Clallam County organizations and businesses that provide a significant impact on the county economy and/or quality of life.
