Clallam County residents have two new opportunities to participate in government by serving on citizen advisory groups.
Vacancies exist on:
* Board of Equalization: The panel hears appeals from the county assessor’s fair-market appraisal of taxpayers’ properties.
It holds hearings, evaluates evidence and makes decisions.
Members serve three-year terms.
* Marine Resource Committee: The panel, established under guidelines set by the Northwest Straits Commission, includes county, city and tribal representatives as well as community members who are experts in fishing, education, conservation, and ecology.
Applicants for both groups should visit the commissioners’ office in the courthouse, call 360-417-2233, or go to the county Web site, www.clallam.net/Board/html/advisory_boards.htm.
Deadline for completed applications is 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 31.
