Clallam County commissioners have met in closed session with staff officials to discuss whether to appeal or settle a lawsuit that resulted in a U.S. District Court judge’s sign code ruling against the county.
At issue in the suit filed by Viacom Outdoor Inc. against the county was a billboard leased by Viacom on property owned by A.J. and Kerry Webb on U.S. Highway 101 just west of Sunny Farms Country Store in Carlsborg.
The Webbs inherited the lease when they bought the property, and are not a plaintiff in the lawsuit.
The commissioners’ closed meeting with the community development director and legal counsel on Monday addressed their options following Western U.S. District Court Judge Ronald B. Leighton’s ruling.
