Clallam commissioners to consider appeals for funds to fight homelessness

PORT ANGELES — Clallam County commissioners will consider 17 proposals to fight homelessness when they gather for their weekly work session Monday morning.

Their challenge: Ten agencies have put forth $641,396 worth of programs vying for the $300,000 commissioners specially allocated in April when Serenity House revealed its financial plight.

Serenity House, the county’s largest agency for combating homelessness, leads the list with three proposed projects that total nearly $263,000.

Other proposals range from nearly $7,500 for the Lincoln Apartments, 703 S. Lincoln St., to $50,000 sought by Concerned Citizens of Forks’ Community Connections for Homelessness.

The work session will start at 9 a.m. in Room 160 of the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St.

■   Concerned Citizens: Community Connections for Homelessness, $50,000.

■   Concerned Citizens: Connecting Links adult family home, $28,097.

■   Forks Abuse: Care for Housing, $25,000.

■   Forks Abuse: Kid CARE, $12,000.

■   Habitat for Humanity: Maloney Heights development, $26,250.

■   Healthy Families: Bridge for Housing, $35,090.

■   Salvation Army: Emergency shelter, $40,000.

■   North Olympic Regional Veterans Housing Network: Case manager/outreach worker, $29,556.

■   North Olympic Regional Veterans Housing Network: Sarge’s Place furniture replacement, $10,285.

■   North Olympic Regional Veterans Housing Network: Camp Sol Duc restoration and South End Apartment completion, $31,130.

■   Serenity House: Operating support for emergency shelters, $141,323.

■   Serenity House: Supportive services to stabilize clients and equip them to overcome homelessness, $80,909.

■   Serenity House: Housing Resource Centers, $40,500.

■   The Answers for Youth (TAFY): Bridging the Gap 5, $19,000.

■   Tobias Property LLC (agent for Lincoln Apartments): Public/private collaboration in securing permanent housing, $30,888,

■   Tobias Property LLC: Permanent supportive housing, $7,462.

■   Volunteers in Medicine of the Olympics (VIMO): Dental services, $33,9906.
