Clallam County commissioners have approved a policy establishing medical benefit criteria for employees called up for active military service.
Commissioners voted 2-0 Tuesday to approve the policy extending health care insurance for up to 6 months for employees called to serve, County Administrator Dan Engelbertson said.
Commissioner Mike Chapman, R-Port Angeles, was absent from the meeting.
Employees will not otherwise be paid by the county while serving in the military, he said.
