PORT ANGELES — Jaci Rooney has been named Clallam Transit System Employee of the Year for 2001.
Rooney, a driver, was chosen for the honor by General Manager Dan Di Guilio. She was one of four Clallam Transit staffers nominated by co-workers for the award.
“Jaci demonstrates her endless desire that Clallam Transit remain a successful and great place to work,”‘ said Di Guilio at the transit system’s annual awards ceremony March 24.
“She works the Extra Board, which means she must be ready to work any shift, any time and occasionally with little more notice than a phone call saying, ‘Can you get in here right away?’
“Jaci also serves as an officer on the Employees’ Association board of directors. One of Jaci’s most refreshing and basic attributes is that for all she does, she doesn’t expect any reward. She is about what transit is — service and giving.”
