Law enforcement agents have intercepted yet another stash of marijuana apparently being smuggled onto the Clallam County shores from Canada.
Investigators seized about 250 pounds of marijuana after a U.S. Coast Guard vessel spotted a suspicious boat on a remote shoreline west of Joyce early Saturday morning.
Three Canadian citizens, including one man who is already facing criminal charges in Clallam from a suspected smuggling attempt in January, were arrested and taken to the Clallam County jail to await formal charges in federal court.
Their arrests mark the 16th, 17th and 18th arrests in suspected “B.C. Bud” marijuana smuggling operations in Clallam County since the beginning of 2004.
More than a ton of marijuana has been seized in the county this year.
