PORT ANGELES – Port commissioners remembered the admonition Monday morning to always say “thank you.”
The Port of Port Angeles board unanimously approved sending the three 24th District legislators in Olympia a joint thank-you letter along with the city of Port Angeles.
The letter applauds the lawmakers for their help in resolving issues surrounding the ancient Klallam tribal village of Tse-whit-zen and the abandoned state Department of Transportation graving yard project that unearthed it.
It also asks the three lawmakers to ensure that millions in economic development funding for the city and port are included in the state’s 2007-08 capital budget.
Separate letters were sent to Rep. Lynn Kessler, D-Hoquiam, Rep. Kevin Van De Wege, D-Sequim, and Sen. Jim Hargrove, D-Hoquiam.
They represent the 24th District, which includes Clallam and Jefferson counties and one third of Grays Harbor County.
A copy also was sent to Tom Fitzsimmons, Gov. Chris Gregoire’s chief of staff.
