City of Sequim selects new clerk

SEQUIM — Sara McMillon, a certified municipal clerk with 13 years of experience, is Sequim’s new city clerk.

The city of Sequim announced the hire recently as they replace outgoing city clerk Karen Kuznek-Reese, who retired from the city in September.

McMillon’s first day will be Dec. 2.

McMillon has worked the past seven years as city clerk for the City of Newcastle, and previously as town clerk-treasurer for Yarrow Point, and city clerk for Driggs, Idaho.

“We are very excited to have someone with Sara’s experience join our team in this essential role,” said Assistant City Manager Charisse Deschenes.

McMillon has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.

“My values really led me here,” she said. “I want to contribute to a close-knit community with a healthy environment, in proximity to both natural places and the arts. I think Sequim is that exceptional kind of place.”

For more information, contact Deschenes at 360-681-3432 or [email protected].
