Chip sealing, striping on highways this week

PORT ANGELES — Drivers on opposite ends of the North Olympic Peninsula will encounter highway resurfacing work beginning this week.

Contractors working for the state Department of Transportation will repair pavement, chip seal and stripe state Highway 110, near La Push, and U.S. Highway 101 south of Quilcene.

Drivers can expect single-lane alternating traffic controlled by pilot cars, with a reduced speed limit of 25 mph, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays throughout the summer.

The work on Highway 101 is between mileposts 296.6 and 299.5, near Fish Hatchery Road.

The work on Highway 110 will extend from milepost 0.1 to milepost 11.1 and on the spur route from milepost 7.8 to milepost 10.47.
