PORT ANGELES — Buildings on the northwest corner of Lincoln and Eighth streets are posed to be demolished to make way for a new Rite Aid Pharmacy store and pharmacy.
Rite Aid, which acquired the land about seven months ago, submitted a demolition permit on Jan. 6, said Sue Roberds, Port Angeles planning manager.
The location includes the former sites of Simply Flowers, The Rocket Drive Thru, Blue Dolphin Car Wash, and Round the Clock Deli and Grocery.
Roberds said the permit probably will be approved by the city within the next two weeks.
Rite Aid’s plans for the site include constructing a 17,340 square-foot store.
Roberds said the company plans to begin construction in the spring.
She said approval of a construction permit is dependent upon it including the creation of a right turn lane at the intersection.
