BUSINESS BRIEFS: Two take on new roles at First Federal’s Sequim branch . . . and other items

SEQUIM — First Federal has made two changes to its Sequim Avenue branch team.

Longtime branch manager Christy Rookard has a new role as retail training specialist.

Rookard’s duties include “facilitating training . . . as well as designing and developing instructional materials and performance aids and evaluating/improving program effectiveness,” according to First Federal.

“She will provide support of sales and service efforts designed to retain existing relationships and enable growth of new relationships.”

Shenna Straling-Younger has joined as Sequim branch manager/assistant vice president.

She oversees daily operations at the branch, including the management of business development, banking activity, products and services.

Before joining First Federal, Straling-Younger was a branch manager for Union Bank.

KONP talk guests

PORT ANGELES — Here is this week’s schedule for the 1:05 p.m. to 2 p.m. local talk show segment on KONP radio, at 1450 AM, 101.7 FM and www.konp.com on the Internet outside the Port Angeles area.

Station General Manager Todd Ortloff hosts the Monday through Thursday segments.

This week’s scheduled lineup:

■ Monday: Clallam County commissioner candidate forum with incumbent Jim McEntire and challenger Mark Ozias.

■ Tuesday: Susan Gile, dental coordinator for Volunteers in Medicine of the Olympics, discusses Dental Hygiene Awareness Month and a Halloween candy exchange she’s offering to trick-or-treaters.

Second segment: Danetta Rutten and Sister Maureen O’Leary, a Benedictine nun, discuss efforts to collect medical supplies for an orphanage in Tanzania.

■ Wednesday: Port Angeles City Manager Dan McKeen.

■ Thursday: Scott Nagel, executive director of the Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival, discusses the event which runs this coming Friday through Sunday in Port Angeles.

Second segment: Mike Howe Clallam County Public Utility District director of communications.
