PORT ANGELES — Strait Occupational & Hand Therapy, 708 S. Race St., Suite C, will host an open house today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event is in recognition of Hand Therapy Awareness and Injury Prevention Week, which runs June 2-8.
A hand therapist works with patients who may have been affected by an accident or trauma, leaving them with wounds, scars, burns, injured tendons or nerves, fractures or even amputation of fingers, hands or arms.
Many patients seeking care also suffer from such ailments as arthritis or a neurological condition.
Hand therapists also specialize in shoulder, elbow, wrist, upper back and neck issues.
Light refreshments will be served during the open house.
