PORT TOWNSEND — State Sen. Bob Hasegawa will speak during an Energy Lunch program titled “Advantages of a State-Chartered Bank in Local Energy Development” at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Port Townsend Community Center, 640 Tyler St.
Hasegawa, whose 11th District includes the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle, will be sponsoring banking legislation that highlights the state-chartered Bank of North Dakota and would create similar state banking operations in Washington, according to a news release.
The presentation, which is free and open to all, will provide those involved in new local energy activities a glimpse of how successful financing of local energy development might be replicated with the renewable energy resources of Jefferson County.
