The Clallam County Fire Marshal’s Office has lifted the burn ban effective midnight Tuesday.
The decision, Fire Marshal Leon Smith said, was based on the state Department of Natural Resources’ downgrading the fire danger on the North Olympic Peninsula from moderate to low.
Jefferson County lifted its burn ban on Monday.
Smith advised people to contact their local fire district for regulations concerning burning in Clallam County, as well as to acquire permits and learn requirements.
Smith said people should remember that burn barrels are still prohibited by state law.
