Jefferson County commissioners want to take the Brinnon sub-area plan back to Brinnon before embarking on a new environmental review of the plan.
The commissioners decided Monday to hold a series of workshops and hearings in Brinnon on the plan and delay starting a potentially costly environmental review until they get more feedback.
The county is required to complete a supplemental environmental-impact statement after a hearing examiner ruled March 12 that an earlier review of the plan was inadequate.
Commissioners may choose to remove parts of the plan to simplify the review process and to avoid spending up to $100,000 in review costs before adopting the plan, though no decisions have been made.
