A 12-year-old girl, gravely injured when she was shot in the head at her home south of Brinnon on July 30, has recovered to the point where she might be allowed to make a short trip home.
The girl, whose identity was never officially revealed by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, was flown first to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, then transferred to Children’s Hospital.
Robin Springer, a family friend who has provided information about the girl’s condition to the Brinnon community, said there is daily improvement. Springer said the trip home is contingent on continued improvement in the girl’s condition and couldn’t say when the visit might take place.
