A Port Angeles School District committee late Monday gave the School Board 37 ideas to reduce the deficit-ridden school district’s budget by $1 million.
Recommendations included incorporating Choice High School into the Port Angeles High School campus, closing an unspecified elementary school, cutting high school “C” athletic teams and varsity assistant head coaches, reducing team sizes and curtailing athletics in the middle schools.
Community meetings will be held Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St., and Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Port Angeles library, 2210 S. Peabody St.
