Body of unidentified woman found in Blyn

Death investigated as ‘suspicious’

BLYN — Clallam County Sheriff’s Office detectives continued Saturday to investigate the death of an unidentified woman whose body was found in a mountainous, wooded area south of 7 Cedars Casino.

Deputies were dispatched to the U.S. Forest Service road area at about 11 a.m. Friday after a passerby discovered the corpse, Sgt. John Hollis said Saturday morning.

“The case is being investigated as a suspicious death,” Hollis said.

The woman is not believed to be a reported missing person, he said.

Hollis said he could not comment on how long the body was in the area, how the woman died, how old she was, whether she was clothed or not, or the condition of the remains.

“We want to find out who she is and talk to the family first,” Hollis said.

“We don’t know who she is, so it’s going to take some work our detectives’ part.

“I can’t give any degree of confidence at this point that they can figure something out and talk to the family.”
