Two days before the general election, voter turnout remains low on the North Olympic Peninsula.
Jefferson County voters had returned 6,916 ballots by Friday, voter registration coordinator Sandi Eldridge said.
That’s 30.1 percent of the 23,007 ballots mailed for Tuesday’s all-mail general election.
The Clallam County Auditor’s Office had received 11,352 ballots by week’s end, county Auditor Shoona Riggs said.
That’s 23.9 percent of the 47,481 ballots mailed.
The cumulative turnout for both counties is 25.9 percent.
Ballots were mailed Oct. 14.
To be valid, ballots must be postmarked no later than Tuesday or dropped off by 8 p.m. Tuesday at:
â– Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles. Drive-up drop box available.
â– Sequim Village Shopping Center, 651 W. Washington St.
â– Forks District Court lobby, 502 E. Division St.
â– Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson St., Port Townsend. Drive-up drop box in the lot off Franklin Street.
â– Jefferson County Library, 620 Cedar Ave., Port Hadlock. Drop box mounted in parking lot.
