Auditions for talent show wrap today; event will benefit Port Angeles resident with cancer

PORT ANGELES — The final day of open auditions for a talent show to benefit Port Angeles resident Tami Goodwin, who is battling cancer and needs help with expenses, is today.

Auditions for the show, organized by the Port Angeles High School Leadership Class, began Monday. The audition is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Port Angeles High School auditorium, 304 E. Park Ave.

Set for Jan. 29

The talent show will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, in the high school auditorium.

“We are screening talent and currently selling tickets for the show,” said Rachael Ward, adviser to the leadership class.

All funds raised for this event will be presented to the Goodwin family to offset medical costs.

Ward said that Goodwin is the parent of two Port Angeles High School graduates. She has been very supportive of the district.

Auditions are open to all ages. Acts can be for a maximum of five minutes.

As of Wednesday night, about 16 acts had auditioned, Ward said.

Tickets available

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and $20 for a family of four.

They can be purchased at Green Crow, Port Book and News and the main office at Port Angeles High School. Tickets also will be available at the door.

Private auditions

Those who want to participate but who didn’t make the open auditions can contact Ward at 360-565-1529 or by e-mail at rward@portangelesschools.org.

Private auditions are possible through next week, Ward said.
