PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Charter Review Commission has appointed Anthony Corrado to fill a vacant District 1 seat.
Corrado fills the seat left vacant when Ted Miller, who also served on the Sequim City Council, died April 10. He was elected unanimously by the commissioners present at their Wednesday meeting.
The commission followed the precedent of filling vacancies by selecting the candidate who received the next highest votes in the general election in the effected district for the Charter Review Commission.
Clallam is one of seven counties in the state that operates under a home-rule charter, a “constitution” for county government.
The Charter Review Commission will incorporate citizen input as it develops proposed charter amendments for voters to consider in the November election.
