PORT ANGELES — The city of Port Angeles is accepting applications for four positions on the Planning Commission.
Applications will be accepted until 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Three positions have terms expiring Feb. 29.
The other position, vacated when commission member Sissi Bruch was elected to the City Council, expires Feb. 28, 2014.
The members of the Planning Commission review and make recommendations to the City Council on land development actions including preparation of the comprehensive plan and zoning regulations.
The commission also may make recommendations to individual departments for adoption of land-use controls.
The Planning Commission serves as a hearings board on such land-use issues as conditional-use permits and shoreline activities.
Commission members are ultimately responsible to the City Council.
Commissioners must be residents of the city and are appointed to four-year terms, with a limit of two consecutive terms.
The commission meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 321 E. Fifth St.
Applications are available at www.cityofpa.us/boardscc.htm or the City Manager’s Office in City Hall.
