Jessie Davis carefully took down her poster of Jennifer Lopez so she could take it with her to meet the famous actress and singer Saturday.
She also brought several compact discs recorded by Lopez — she dances to and sings along with them when she’s feeling like an ordinary teen-ager.
The 16-year-old Port Angeles girl, who just completed her sophomore year at Port Angeles High School, has known far more loss than most of her peers.
Her birth mother is dead, and her father, Wally Davis, a Clallam County sheriff’s deputy, was responding to a complaint last Aug. 5 when a mentally ill man shot and killed him just seconds after he knocked on the man’s door.
