PORT ANGELES – Drivers can begin mapping out their new routes next week in preparation for 18-month closure of the two Eighth Street bridges later this summer.
The new stop signs, directional signs and detour signs for the Eighth Street bridges replacement project will start going up Monday.
Those signs will include two temporary four-way stops at Eighth and C streets and at 16th and Pine streets, plus a right-turn-only sign at the intersection of Tumwater Street and Marine Drive.
Temporary traffic signals also will be installed at two locations along the Tumwater Truck Route and at the intersection of Tumwater Street and Marine Drive.
The work is expected to take about 20 days or four weeks, said city spokeswoman Teresa Pierce.
