AN UPDATED ADVISORY from the Clallam County Public Utility District:

Approximately 60 customers in the Carlsborg area are without power.

PUD crews are working to restore power. Estimated time of restoration is 6 p.m.

Cause: Tree in the lines, likely due to snow/wind/weather.

No other Clallam PUD outages are being reported.

Earlier today, water service was restored to the Carlsborg area by Clallam PUD crews.

With the reservoir filling, customers will continue to experience “low water pressure.” This situation may last until early Thursday morning.

As customers begin receiving water, we ask that they open their taps and expect some air initially until the water is fully in service.

Again, though, customers may experience continued low water pressure for several hours.

EARLIER REPORT:

PUD crews continue to work in the Carlsborg area to restore water.

After finding the original break in Carlsborg and repairing it, water is now being pumped, but the reservoir has been drained, as well as all of the piping. So, it’s taking a long time to fill back up.

At this time, water hasn’t even reached the reservoir yet. It’s been running full time and water crews are on site monitoring the reservoir’s progress.

Estimates are that most people should be back in water by 5 pm.

As customers begin receiving water, we ask that they open their taps and expect some air initially until the water is fully in service.

IN ADDITION . . .

Clallam PUD customers may be experiencing isolated weather related outages.

Power has been restored to LaPush, the area south of Forks and Neah Bay.
