CHENEY — Port Townsend senior Jeff Seton earned the highest finish of any North Olympic Peninsula athlete competing at the Class 1A state track and field championship at Eastern Washington University.
Seton, in his first year of track and field, placed fifth in the javelin.
Mark Streett and Ryan Clarke each picked up seventh-place medals for the Redhawks in the 400- and 1,600-meter runs, respectively.
Streett and Port Townsend’s Zach Wilson, Koby Weidner and Cameron Constantine finished seventh in the boys 4×100 relay.
Brennan LaBrie had an eight-place finish in the 800.
Seren Dances finished 15th in the triple jump, for the Redhawks, and Hannah Trailer was 16th in the 1,600.
Weidner came in ninth in the 100 preliminaries, while Constantine was 14th in the 200 preliminaries.
For the Port Townsend girls, Shenoa Snyder placed 12th in the discus Saturday in her first time competing at the track and field championships.
Forks’ best result came from senior Miguel Morales, who ended up 10th in the discus.
Austin Pegram was 12th in the boys 1,600 and 16th in the 800, while Kari Larson was ninth in the girls 800 and 13th in the 1,600.
Chimacum’s lone state qualifier, Bailey Castillo, finished 12th in the javelin.
