WEEKEND: Tickets still available for Port Angeles Fine Arts Center fundraiser on Saturday

PORT ANGELES — Tickets are still available through 5 p.m. today for “A New ARTitude,” the fall fundraiser for the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center.

Latin jazz by the band Malo Combo, a gourmet meal catered by Oven Spoonful and two auctions of fine art and experiences are part of the party Saturday at the Masonic Lodge, 622 S. Lincoln St.

Tickets are $75 per person to benefit the fine arts center, which is 26 years old this year.

The center has a new director, Robin Anderson, who has worked with the board and many other volunteers to gather gifts for the evening’s silent and live auctions.

Music and festivities will go from 6 p.m. till 10 p.m. Saturday, with the silent auction offering artwork from local artists and the live bidding on “a variety of wonderful, experiential occasions and unique creative items,” Anderson said.

“The New ARTitude theme really reflects the renewal of energy and excitement around the changes starting to happen at the center,” Anderson said.

“We feel this event is the launching of new goals and ideas. I hope all the supporters of arts will come help us celebrate.”

The director added that Saturday’s event will generate funds for cultural arts programs, workshops and Webster’s Woods, the 5-acre park beside the center at 1203 E. Lauridsen Blvd.

Admission to both the indoor and the outdoor art spaces is free.

To find out more about the center and Saturday’s festivities, phone 360-457-3532 or visit the website, which has a new look, at www.PAFAC.org.
