WEEKEND: Sequim to hold its spring cleanup

SEQUIM — The city of Sequim will hold its annual spring cleanup program at the Sequim City Shop, 169 W. Hemlock St., from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and Saturday.

The program is open only to residents of incorporated Sequim.

A “Food for Trash” coupon was included in the April issue of “Sequim News,” which was mailed in the city’s utility billing March 30.

Residents are asked to bring two cans of food for the food bank along with their coupon to the City Shop.

1 square yard of trash

In exchange, the city will take one pickup load, or approximately 1 square yard, of trash such as appliances, furniture and tires in exchange for the food and coupon.

No refrigerators, freezers, paints or hazardous materials will be accepted.

Without a “Food for Trash” coupon, the cost is $10 for a pickup load of trash.

Computers and televisions can be recycled at Goodwill or at EcycleNW, 272693 U.S. Highway 101 in Blyn.

For more information, phone the Public Works Department at 360-683-4908.
