Rhododendron Festival schedule

Today, May 19

* Rhododendron Flower Show: Entries received at the Chapel at Fort Worden State Park, 3 p.m.

* Carnival: Opens 3 p.m.

* Kiddies Parade: Parade takes place downtown, beginning at Monroe and Water streets and extending to Taylor Street, then Washington Street to Quincy Street.

Assembly begins at 2:45 p.m., and judging will start promptly at 3:10 p.m.

The Rhody Royalty will judge the best overall entry, which will be in Saturday’s Grand Parade.

The parade starts at approximately 3:30 p.m.

* Kiwanis Fish Fry: American Legion Hall, 209 Monroe St., 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

* Bed Races: Assembly is at 6 p.m. on Washington Street behind the Bank of America.

Judging begins at 6:15 p.m. for best decorated bed (chosen by the Rhody Royalty, and bribes are welcomed!).

Race heats begin about 6:30 p.m. along a two-block route on Washington Street, between Quincy and Taylor streets.

Saturday, May 20

* Jim Caldwell Memorial Rhody Open Golf Tournament: Port Townsend Golf Course, 8 a.m.

* Elks Rhody Fundraiser Pancake Breakfast: Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., 10 a.m.

* Carnival: Opens at noon.

* Rhododendron Flower Show: Chapel at Fort Worden State Park, noon to 5 p.m.

* Grand Parade: 1 p.m.

* Spaghetti Feed: Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Sunday, May 21

* Jim Caldwell Memorial Rhody Open Golf Tournament: Port Townsend Golf Course, 9 a.m.

* Rhody Run: Fort Worden State Park, registration starts 9 a.m., run starts 11 a.m.

* Elks Rhody Fundraiser Pancake Breakfast: Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., 10 a.m.

* Rhododendron Flower Show: Chapel at Fort Worden State Park, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
