NOLS offering kits to build a planter or toolbox

PORT ANGELES — The North Olympic Library System will hand out kits to build a planter or a toolbox starting Monday.

The kits are designed for children aged from 4- to 12-years old to build with an adult.

The kits, which were created by Glen Humphrey of the Wood Connection with wood provided by Angeles Millwork, include everything needed to make a planter or a tool box except a hammer.

The building project, part of the Summer Reading Program, is an opportunity for kids and adults to connect with each other by talking, learning, and creating together, according to a library press release.

For more information, call the library at 360-417-8500, email [email protected] or visit www.nols.org.

A prolonged dry spell on the North Olympic Peninsula has prompted many farmers to turn to irrigation to keep their fields green.
