PORT TOWNSEND — Blues legend Taj Mahal, the opener of Centrum’s 20th annual Acoustic Blues Festival this Wednesday night, has sold out the 1,200-seat McCurdy Pavilion — but a new section of seats has been added, Centrum spokesman Mark Livingston said Monday afternoon.
Tickets for these general-admission seats, which Livingston says are “by the stage, way up front,” will go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the McCurdy Pavilion box office at Fort Worden State Park, 200 Battery Way. They’re $25 each and available to walk-up customers at the box office only.
Mahal will appear on the McCurdy Pavilion stage at 7:30 p.m. with acoustic blues and reggae guitarist Corey Harris and the Taj Mahal Trio, which includes bassist Bill Rich and drummer Kester Smith.
The Acoustic Blues Festival continues with “Blues in the Clubs” series in Port Townsend venues this Friday and Saturday night and the Down-Home Country Blues Fest with Otis Taylor, Nat Reese, Guy Davis and others at Fort Worden on Saturday afternoon.
