Women in radio
PORT TOWNSEND — The American Association of University Women will host a program on Women in Radio at the Elks Lodge from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
The event is free and the public is welcome at the lodge, 555 Otto St.
Featured speakers will be Dalana Lynwood, Maryanne McNellis and Cris Wilson of KPTZ radio in Port Townsend.
They will discuss their radio programs, describe how they got their shows and share some of the joys and obstacles they’ve found along the way.

PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend High School students will present John Bishop’s “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940” today and Saturday at 7 p.m. at the high school auditorium.
Performances will continue Nov. 18 and 19 at the auditorium, 1500 Van Ness St.
Tickets for adults are $10, $3 for children younger than 12.
Tickets will be available at the door only.
All proceeds will benefit future productions.

Quilt meeting
PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson County Quilts of Valor will meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Creative Union Fabrics.
There is no requirement to join to participate; dues are $5 annually and a $5 donation for each meeting at 112 Kala Square.
The group makes comfort quilts for veterans and military members.
Meetings are for sharing patterns and fabric and working on projects.
No quilting experience is necessary.

‘Hunger Games’ talk
SEQUIM — A discussion of the novel “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins will occur at the Sequim Library at 3 p.m. Saturday.
The free event is supported by the Friends of Sequim Library.

Sequim Library sale
SEQUIM — The Friends of Sequim Library will host its monthly book sale at the Friends building behind the Sequim Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The public is invited to the sale at 630 N. Sequim Ave.
The specials for this month include Northwest gardening, quilting, America’s Test Kitchen cookbooks, learning to play classical guitar, watercolor painting instruction, how to write and publish fiction and non-fiction, 200 DVDs and a large number of paperback fiction, including many dealing with science fiction.
Also available is a 14-volume set of Louis L’Amour novels, bound in leatherette.
Proceeds from the sale benefit children’s and adult programming at the Sequim Library.
Scavenger hunt
SEQUIM — Olympics Nature Experience will hold a fall scavenger hunt from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the historic Dungeness Schoolhouse.
The cost will be $15 per family at the schoolhouse, 781 Towne Road.
Families are invited to connect to nature through group-led hikes and play along the Dungeness River, highlighting the county’s restoration work and amount of diversity to be found in our backyard. After exploring along the river, all guests will be invited back inside to enjoy local storytellers and tasty snacks.

Accordion social
SEQUIM — An accordion social will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Shipley Center.
A $2 or $3 donation will be asked at the door to cover expenses at the center, 921 E. Hammond St.
The social is designed to be a supportive and friendly atmosphere where players can play and enjoy music.

Elks bingo
SEQUIM — The Sequim Elks Lodge will host bingo games from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Admission will be free at the lodge at 143 Port Williams Road.
Minimum buy-in for the game is $10, and the Elks will offer popular bingo games, including progressive.
Players must be 18 or older.
Snacks and refreshments will be available.
All proceeds will go to the Elks scholarship program, charities supported by the Elks and lodge operating costs.
‘Little Women’
SEQUIM — Sequim teens continue to stage the timeless tale of “Little Women” this weekend.
Sequim High School’s all-school play continues at 7 tonight and Saturday night at the high school’s auditorium, 601 N. Sequim Ave.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students with ASB identification and seniors.
Performances began last weekend.
Based on Louisa May Alcott’s book and adapted by Scott Davison, Audrey Hughes stars as Jo March with her stage sisters Victoria Hall as Meg, Abygail Mundy as Beth and Alison Cobb as Amy.
The stage version follows the girls through adolescence during a portion of the Civil War as their father, played by Seth Mitchell, goes off to war and their mother, Marmee, played by Colleen Carpenter, leaves to tend to him as the girls discover more of the world and band together through poverty, love and loss.

Benefit breakfast
JOYCE — The Crescent Bay Lions Club will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday.
Admission will be $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and younger at the club, state Highway 112 and Holly Hill Road.
The menu will include eggs cooked to order, hot cakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, hashbrowns, ham, bacon or sausage and coffee or tea.
Proceeds will help Crescent Bay members support high school yearbooks, scholarships, holiday food baskets, glasses for the needy and other community projects.
The breakfast will be held every Sunday through May 14, except for Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
