Free radio forum to spotlight types of COVID-19 vaccines

SEQUIM — Vivian Brown from Walgreens Pharmacy will present “The COVID-19 Vaccine,” a free WOW! Working on Wellness radio forum from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday on KSQM 91.5 FM.

Brown’s presentation will detail the different types of COVID-19 vaccines and their development, the technology involved in creating them, the distribution and comparisons of each and the hesitancy some have about receiving this vaccine.

Brown graduated from Oregon State University School of Pharmacy and has worked in various venues and positions — independent and chain retail, staff and clinical hospitals, clinical drug studies and pharmacology instruction — in Arizona, Oregon, Washington state and Saudi Arabia.

WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic — Sequim’s free clinic, which provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members.

Work is supported by more than 70 volunteers, including physicians, other professional health care providers and laypersons, as well as private and public donations from the Sequim community and beyond.

The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients Monday and Thursday evenings beginning at 5 p.m.

Individuals interested in supporting the clinic may call 360-582-0218.
