Children’s theater plans auditions in Forks

FORKS — The Missoula Children’s Theatre will conduct auditions for “Rapunzel” in Forks on Jan. 16.

The auditions will be from noon to 2 p.m. in the Forks High School Commons, 261 Spartan Ave. Parents and children are asked to arrive by 11:45 a.m. to complete permission forms.

All students, from kindergarten through 12th grade, are welcome.

Children will be expected to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant directors also will be cast to assist with the technical aspects of the production.

Among the roles to be cast are Rapunzel, the Princess, Madame Gothel, Rapunzel’s parents, the Wood Elves, Ears of Corn and a Potato, Unicorns, Pixies, Gremlins, Billy Goats Gruff, a Troll, Three Bears, a Beaver, Ogres and Mushrooms.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre will provide costumes, scenery, props and makeup.

Rehearsals will be from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. each day before the performances Saturday, Jan. 21 — except Wednesday, when the Quillayute Valley School District will have an early release day.

Cast members will receive a complete schedule.

“Rapunzel” will be presented at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Jan. 21 in the Forks High School Commons.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre is brought to Forks by Quillayute Valley School District with support from Misty Valley Inn.
