SEQUIM — Writers on the Spit will host free Fourth Friday Readings featuring two authors at 6:30 tonight at The Lodge.

Eva Stanfield and Beth Pratt will tell tales about life on the North Olympic Peninsula in the lodge’s media room, 660 Evergreen Farm Way.

Those who arrive at 6 p.m. will receive a discounted drink at the lodge’s espresso bistro.

Stanfield is a lyric soprano, pianist and teacher who has performed music internationally.

She surprised everyone, including herself, by returning home to her native muse, where she has completed a memoir and numerous short stories about growing up on the Olympic Peninsula, according to a news release.

Pratt is a native Oregonian and president of the Sequim Community Orchestra.

She knows secret mushroom patches, fishing holes and hikes not found on the national park’s official maps, according to a news release.

Following the two authors’ presentations, an hour of five-minute open mic readings will occur.

Event organizers advise those interested to arrive early to submit their names.
