We should worry about Profa

Some blame recent violence and looting on Antifa, a non organization with no membership, no officers and no meeting place.

The name means anti-fascist.

I was not alive during World War II.

My parents were and they made sure I understood that fascism, represented by Hitler and Mussolini, was bad.

There were 418,600 American casualties and countless others around the world who died fighting fascism in that war.

They were Antifa.

A small group in Forks terrorized a multi-racial family who only wanted to go camping.

Were these locals “Profa”?

What about the heavily armed protesters, almost entirely white, who recently invaded state houses wanting their rights to catch COVID-19 respected?

Profa?

What about U.S. Attorney General William Barr who apparently ordered and certainly witnessed and condoned a violent attack of law enforcement officers on peaceful protesters in a public park across from the White House?

His group is organized on a national level.

They have a President who wants to dominate.

They meet in the White House.

Is that Profa?

My parents emphasized that, given the right conditions, fascism can surface anywhere and that we must be vigilant and active to oppose it.

They were right.
