The current “rivalry to raise money for food banks” (Peninsula Daily News, Dec. 13) between the Port Angeles and Sequim Safeway stores is a noble idea.
However, the consequence of being the loser is repugnant.
That the mayor or mayor’s representative of the losing city will “take a pie in the face” is an ill-conceived idea.
Raising money for food banks and then wasting food through a pie in the face is abhorrent.
Pie is food.
