LETTER:Understand the truth

A person spoke at a recent county commissioners’ meeting stating the belief that observers should be able to see the signature comparisons on the computers when signatures were being verified.

It is my understanding that before ballots are taken from their mailing envelope, trained people compare the outside signature with the original voter registration signature.

If one person doesn’t think it’s a match, someone else looks at it and, if they agree that there is a question, every attempt to contact that voter directly is made.

No one knows how this person voted or what party, if any, they belong to.

The ballot has not been opened.

Will someone explain to me how anyone could corrupt this part of the vote review process?

It makes no sense to insist on seeing the signatures while the trained poll worker does this job.

It’s time to get real and understand the truth about what’s happening.
