LETTER:Supports Kidd

It’s that time of year again.

The weather is changing, leaves are falling and it’s time to vote.

As we consider the candidates we have numerous choices and, these days, what seems like endless sources of media to inform us.

Of course we want to know the basics: political affiliation, qualifications, experience, etc; beyond these givens, what about a candidate’s humanity.

It occurred to me as I looked back at an incident many years ago when I asked then Port Angeles City Council member Cherie Kidd, now a candidate for the director of Clallam County’s Department of Community Development, if she might take a look at some things happening in my neighborhood.

I was pleasantly surprised when she came right away and, a short time later, had asked for additional support from another council member to look into the matter at hand.

I didn’t expect either one of them to have a magic wand, but their sincere interest and active response was encouraging.

Sometimes just knowing that someone has your back makes all the difference.

That’s why I am casting my vote for Cherie Kidd.

Regardless of how you vote, please do consider the humanity of your candidate, that could well be of benefit to us all

Christina Williams
