I know Heidi Eisenhour.
She is a woman of fierce integrity who has a vision for Jefferson County that transcends political and cultural divides.
Her record as a community leader, business owner, activist and CEO is impeccable, and certainly, during this campaign she has shown us what she is made of: stamina, grit, compassion, creativity, and humor.
She is someone who can think on her feet, and who isn’t afraid to look outside the box for innovative and collaborative responses to difficult issues.
Now is not a time for business as usual.
And Heidi never phones it in.
She’s attentive, respectful and really does her homework.
If you have been following this particular race, you’ll know there has been a lot of talk about candidates’ experience.
One candidate has worked hard for a large I-5 county as staff, and on many boards and commissions in an advisory capacity.
One has has started and run successful businesses, been the executive director of Jefferson Land Trust, chief operating officer of the Northwest Maritime Center and has built public-private partnerships to preserve and enhance treasured local resources: hundreds of acres of irreplaceable farmland, a remodeled county library after the local bond failed and the iconic Ajax Cafe.
All in Jefferson County.
One candidate has been appointed to advisory boards by our county commissioners.
One candidate has been endorsed by these same commissioners to work with them as a peer.
The choice is pretty clear to me.
