LETTER:Support for Stoffer

I write to join the chorus of supporters of Jim Stoffer’s integrity and dedication to our community’s quality education.

As we recently witnessed, Jim is being honored with the Clallam County Community Service Award for his commitment to the welfare of our community. It is odd that the Sequim School Board is questioning his ethics.

I and our tribe have worked with Jim for years and have found his spirit, heart, talent and effort to community welfare, environment, and education are unparalleled.

I, like others, don’t know what questions he asked as member of the school board, but I trust it was in the spirit of wanting to know the truth and facts.

It is concerning that Jim’s integrity is being questioned in public without these facts.

It is hard to correct these missteps in public.

I trust that the board will be objective in reviewing the issue of concern and act accordingly and consistent to their mission. If the community is concerned about Jim’s service on the board, let the voters make that determination.

I have found Jim to be an individual in our community who cares and is willing to dedicate his time and energy to that goal.
